From the coastlines of Skagen to the architecture of Copenhagen and a celebrated fashion scene, Denmark embodies a special kind of energy: modern, minimalist, and playful. In the moment— with an appreciation for nature and the wild world around us.
Editor's Notes: Inspired by the brightly colored townhouses of Copenhagen’s Nyhavn district, this watch features a 41mm aluminum case with a sandblasted dial, linear and numerical indexes, three-hand movement and a seconds-tracking subdial at the 6 o’clock hour. A quick-release pin construction makes it easy to interchange the silicone strap with any 20mm standard strap.
Case & Movement: 41mm case, 20mm band width, scratch resistant mineral crystal, accurate Quartz movement with 3-hand analog display, imported.
Dial: Black, round lightweight aluminum case, with a midnight black dial and white accents.
Watch Band: Midnight Black, durable and lightweight silicone band with a secure single prong strap buckle closure which is self adjustable for a customized fit.
Water Resistant: Up to 30m (100 ft): Will withstand splashes in water; 3 ATM.
I have been wearing Skagen watches for over 30 years now. I bought my second after the one I had worn for years disappeared at a friends of hte library sale. I loved that watch, in large p[art because it was so thin and light that you could hardly tell you were wearing it. SAince Fossil bought the company, they have not been as thin, and I wish Amazon would put thickness back in the descriptions because that is the dimension I used when I searched for watches. That said, this is not as thin as the old Skagens, some of which were 3mm thick, and many around 5-6mm. This watch is 8 mm, which is still thinner than most of the current line, but twice as thick as the old watches. Because it has an aluminum case it is very light. I was surprised to see this described as a unisex watch, given the size, but it does work. My wrists seem to be on the thin side, jusging by my having to wear most watches on the last hole, but it does work for me. It fits my wrist and is comfortable, and at this size is something of a statement piece. I prefer Skagen's mesh bands to silicone, but do like that it is color coordinated.. which is all that has stopped me from replacing the band with one of their mesh bands, which in my opinion, are the best fitting, most comfortable watch bands available. I live in the tropics, so having flow through mesh means more to me than it does most people. The silicone band is comfortable, except when it is 80-90 degrees, which it often is in Hawaii. I may replace it before summer, but it works fine at this time of year and is attractive with the watch.
